Jake Hernandez is a Tax Consultant Manager at Popp Hutcheson, who joined the firm in 2022. Jake’s primary focus is business personal property, but he is also involved in real estate appeals for Big Box properties. Prior to joining Popp Hutcheson, Jake served at Walmart Corporate Offices where he held multiple roles in both Property Tax and Finance (FP&A).

During his time at Walmart, Jake handled Property Tax assessment appeals in numerous states across the country. He was instrumental in developing negotiation tactics that helped the team drive down tax liability at the Appraisal Review Board level. After his time spent in Finance; Jake made Senior Manager where he helped manage the Global Technology P&L across both the Walmart and Sam’s Club businesses. Jake was also instrumental in developing the company’s first technology pay-for consumption model.
