James Johnson, CMI, joined the firm in 2017. He is a licensed property tax consultant focusing on retail and multi-family properties. James has considerable experience in multi-family investing and leasing.

As a consultant, James regularly travels for Appraisal Review Board hearings, advises clients in tax valuation issues, and negotiates assessed values with county appraisers. He is also instrumental in developing valuation strategies and reporting results to his team’s clients. His analysis concerning the decline of retail property values and its effect on tax assessment was featured in his article, “Property Taxes Should Reflect Retail’s Apocalyptic Times,” published in Texas Real Estate Business magazine in 2017. James is a member of the Aggie Real Estate Network and a preferred investment member of the multi-family investment group, Lifestyles Unlimited.

James earned his master’s degree in Land Economics and Real Estate from Texas A&M University in 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University in 2016. While at Texas A&M, James played forward for the Aggie Men’s Club Soccer Team.
