Kathy Mendoza,

Director

Kathy Mendoza is a Director and Paralegal at Popp Hutcheson PLLC. She works closely with Mark Hutcheson, the Managing Partner on the Case Resolution Team. She has extensive experience working on cases involving full-service hotels, shopping centers, office complexes, and big-box retail properties. Kathy joined the firm in 2010 with over 20 years of paralegal experience at the trial and appellate court levels. She manages our team of paralegals and chairs the firm’s 311 Committee, which encourages and facilitates increased efficiency and employee satisfaction within the firm.

Kathy is well-versed in the firm’s practice, communicates regularly with clients, tax consultants, and appraisal district personnel. She is involved with every aspect of the firm’s practice, from the protest decision-making process through the resolution of lawsuits. She is an active participant in settlement conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials. She has also conducted several in-house training courses and presentations to share best practices related to protest and litigation procedures. She has recently co-authored an article that was published in Texas Real Estate Business.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Southeast Missouri State University and completed her paralegal coursework at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She is a member of the Capital Area Paralegal Association, the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division, the Austin chapter of CREW and a frequent attendee at property tax seminars throughout the state.
