Mike Mims advises clients in all phases of business personal property work, including developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities, filing compliance reports, and challenging tax values. In a similar capacity, he also works on the most important properties for our clients—their houses. In his words, that is a very satisfying endeavor.

Prior to joining Popp Hutcheson in 2010, Mike had a 20-year career with HEB Grocery Company. As Director-Property Tax, he directed all real estate and personal property tax matters, including ad valorem tax appeals, lawsuit negotiations, and economic development agreements for retail and distribution centers.

Mike received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Corpus Christi State University. In addition to his time at HEB, Mike has a solid background in the ad valorem tax field, having held positions in a county tax office, appraisal district, and a national property tax firm.
