Michael Shalley,

Principal

Michael J. Shalley, Jr. is a Principal at Popp Hutcheson and a member of the Case Resolution Team. Michael started his property tax consulting career in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with Deloitte’s property tax practice. During his time with Deloitte, he served as the property tax practice leader for the Washington D.C. region. 

Michael has spoken at numerous property tax conferences and seminars across the country, including events hosted by the Council on State Taxation (COST), the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), and Lorman Education Services. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and IPT, and he has served on Florida State University’s Real Estate Trends Planning Committee. Michael has represented clients in both real and personal property tax matters throughout the United States, with a focus on retail, hospitality, and healthcare properties. 

Michael attended Florida State University, earning degrees in both Finance and Real Estate. Michael received his MBA from George Washington University with a concentration in Real Estate Urban Planning and Development.
