Rachel Duck,

Principal

Rachel Duck, CMI, is a tax consultant at Popp Hutcheson. She is responsible for real property valuation, appeals, and negotiations, focusing primarily on hotels, shopping centers, and big-box retail properties. Rachel joined the firm in 2009 with prior experience as an analyst for a commercial real estate appraisal firm. She also has experience in the education field, formerly teaching bilingual education and sixth grade generalist education.

Rachel is involved in the analysis, valuation, and appeal of properties represented by her team. She communicates regularly with clients and appraisal district personnel and frequently attends Appraisal Review Board hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations. Rachel stays actively engaged in the commercial real estate industry by attending seminars and participating in professional organizations and committees. She is a member of the Austin Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), serving both as co-chair of the organization’s Careers Committee and as a member of the Community Outreach Committee. She is also a member of the Aggie Real Estate Network (AREN) and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), and she serves on the IPT Member Connections Committee. She earned her CMI designation through IPT in 2016.

Rachel received her B.A. summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2007 and her Master of Land Economics and Real Estate from Texas A&M University in 2009.
